Houston — The Houston Chronicle is reporting; A 19-year-old has been charged in a South Houston crash that killed a nun.
Marcos Garza ran a stop sign about 5 a.m. Sunday and struck a Honda Civic that Sister Huong Do was driving, South Houston police said Monday.
She was trapped behind the wheel and then taken by Life Flight helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, police said.
Sister Do was going to a local Catholic church to help teenagers with an upcoming retreat at the time of the crash, officials with her religious order said Monday.
Garza was not injured, South Houston police said.
