Teen testifies Lufkin man raped her for three years
AS REPORTED IN THE LUFKIN DAILY NEWS:
A teenage girl took the stand during day one of the trial against the Lufkin man accused of raping her weekly for three years.
Felix Aguirre, 47, watched from the defendant’s chair Wednesday as prosecutor Art Bauereiss asked the girl, who is in Aguirre’s family, about the alleged sexual abuse. The girl claims Aguirre came into her room every night after her mother went to sleep three nights a week and had sex with her from the time she was age 13 to age 16. Aguirre was arrested on the charge after the girl came forward in April 2010.
“And how did you feel when you told your mother about this?” Bauereiss asked the girl Wednesday afternoon.
“I was ashamed, embarrassed and sad,” the girl said. “Mom asked him if he had anything to say to her about him and me and he said, ‘Ask her.’ Mom then asked him, ‘Do you realize what you’ve done?’ He said, ‘Yeah, but oh, well.’ He said he had fallen in love with me. He said it four times.”
In cross-examination, Aguirre’s attorney, Ryan Deaton, asked the girl if it was possible Aguirre sarcastically said he was in love with her to anger her mother.
“Was he antagonizing her to make her mad like, ‘Oh, yeah, I fell in love with her’?” Deaton asked.
“No, he meant what he was saying,” the girl answered.
