Texans’ Schaub to tune out criticism, ‘cut it loose’ against 49ers
Houston — Quarterback Matt Schaub had a message for the fan who paid $200 to buy his jersey just to set it on fire after Sunday’s 23-20 overtime loss to Seattle.
Schaub was booed unmercifully at Reliant Stadium after having an interception returned for a touchdown for the third consecutive game — this one by cornerback Richard Sherman to tie the score at 20.
“My goal is to make sure, when we’re done (with) this thing at the end of the year, he’s going back out, and he’s going to get one (No. 8 jersey) to wear,” Schaub said about the burning of his jersey.
