After a natural disaster ravages through a community, many of us are left wishing we could help, but not knowing how.

One group right here in East Texas helps people put their lives back together after natural disasters across the country.

The Texas Baptist Men have sent crews out after 9/11, Hurricane Katrina and The Waldo Canyon Fire in Colorado among many others.

They are always looking for new volunteers.

Friday night at 6:30 the Yellow Cap Orientation will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Mobberly Baptist Church in Longview. It is a first step to introduce volunteers to the program and find where and how they can best serve.

The organization was started in 1967 by a Harlingen man after Hurricane Beoula, there are now hundreds of chapters across the state.
