Texas car thief ditches baby in brush
Houston (KPRC) — An Amber Alert was canceled after a missing 8-month-old baby was found safe, abandoned in a vacant lot in Houston, Texas.
Authorities say the baby, Genesis Haley, was in her mother's car when it was stolen early Monday morning at a Texaco Gas station in north Houston.
Houston police say at around 1 a.m. Monday the baby's mother left the sleeping baby in her running vehicle to go inside the convenience store. She then saw a suspect get into her vehicle and drive away.
Several hours later Hong Nguyen was jogging when she heard a baby crying in some brush. She then called 911.
"I was very worried. It was scary," she said.
