Texas city tops fat list

Houstonians might not be the fattest in the country after all.

A recent Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index ranked the top 10 obese metropolitan areas in the U.S. and Houston didn’t make the list.

Two other Texas cities – Beaumont and McAllen – did make the list. McAllen topped the list with 38.8 percent of the population being classified as obese, according to the Gallup index. Beaumont rounded out the top 5 with 33.8 percent being in obese, according to the survey.
