A Texas College football player is in serious condition after a one-vehicle wreck on Sunday morning.

It happened in the 2900 block of South Broadway at 2:46 a.m. Sunday morning.

Texas College athlete, Kourtlandt Akins, was driving home when for unknown reasons he veered off the road and drove into northbound traffic.

Akins then hit a curb, hit a telephone pole, flipped his car, and then hit a second pole. Akins was then ejected from the vehicle.

It is unknown if Akins was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Akins condition is also unknown, but we do know he is currently in Intensive Care at a local hospital.
