TYLER - Poor sales are forcing the Texas Lottery Commission to get rid of some scratch-off games.
They're ending several of their scratch-off games next month even though more than 25-million in promised jackpots for those games haven't been awarded or claimed by winners yet.
According to the associated press the Texas Lottery Commission reported in December that ticket revenues plummeted by 45 million dollars since the previous fiscal year.
That's a four-percent drop which state lottery officials blame on the current recession.
The Texas Lottery web site still advertises nine different prizes from $1-million all the way up to to $5-million.
As of this past Thursday, only three of the nine jackpots had been claimed by winners.
