I think we received a far better education in the 60's and 70's than whats being offered today. Instead of common core math I had a math class that taught us to file a 1040EZ tax form. Something that's come in handy. We also had vocational education here in Palestine. They offered agriculture, metal trades, carpentry, auto shop, and cosmetology. We actually graduated with marketable skills. I've used the skills I learned in metal trades my entire career. The state needs to return to that model.
