Texas ranks 4th in HS Graduation rates, East Texas above state average

New date released by the Department of Education shows Texas is tied for fourth in the nation in high school graduation rates.
At 86% Texas along with Indiana, Nebraska, New Hampshire and North Dakota rank among the best in graduating their seniors on time in four years.
Iowa was the top ranked state with an 88% graduation rate while Wisconsin and Vermont tied for second with 87% graduation rate.
East Texas seniors graduated at a higher level than the state average.
Region 7 which covers 106 school districts in 17 counties in East Texas had a graduation rate of 90.6% for the 2011 school year. The 2011 class in Region 7 had 11,006 students and 9,967 graduated in four years.
The state also ranked second in the nation for graduating students with disabilities (77%) and graduating students at an ecomonic disadvantage (84%).
