A group Santa's from across the state plan to bring a little bit of Christmas joy to families in West

The Lone Star Santa Organization is made up of Santa Clauses from across Texas.

They are holding toy drives, and one of those is in Tyler.

Toys can be dropped off at Sorrel's Insurance Agency located at 1313 south vine Avenue.

Or to donate through PayPal, you can go to http://www.lonestarsantas.org/

Toys should be brand new, and should be donated by May 17th.

The toys will then be given to kids who have lost so much after the plant explosion, and will hopefully have their minds, for at least moment, taken off of the destruction around them.

As was reported in the Dallas Morning News, in 2009 585 tons of ammona nitrate caught on fire in Bryan,Texas. When firefighters learned that it was ammonia nitrate burning they knew not to add water to the blaze. It took 2 days for the fire to burn out, and there was no explosion. You see adding water to burning ammonia nitrate causes an exothermic reaction to occur. Maybe the best Christmas gift we can give the citizens of West is a manual of what NOT to do if this were to occur ever again.
