(KETK) — At Rose City Flying Clays Saturday morning when people said, 'pull' it did not just send a flying pigieon their way, it sent children who otherwise wouldn not be able to afford it, to camp.
"All the benefits go towards our scholarship program," said Blake Winegeart, Program Director of Rockin' C Ranch. "About a third of our kids come on scholarship each summer."
The Rockin' C Ranch is a small Christian camp in East Texas. It aims to teach kids valuable lessons and strengthen their relationship with God though recreational activities and Bible lessons.
"The kids get to do a lot of things at the ranch," said Monique Dorsey, Owner of Rose City Flying Clays. "They get to do some shooting, they get to do some riding. It's just a wonderful place for the kids to go."
They are expecting to raise 12 to 15 thousand dollars at this event. Hopefully enough to send 30 kids to camp. And the attendees were happy to help.
"What a better place to come and smell some gun powder and give back to kids that are looking for christ," said Buddy Powell.
