Texas soldier slain
A Fort Hood soldier has been charged with murder in the weekend shooting death of a fellow soldier.
Bell County Jail records show that Michael Fitzgerald Reese remained jailed Monday on $1 million bond.
Killeen police say 25-year-old Spc. Justin Sheldon Richardson was shot early Saturday morning in a restaurant parking lot a few blocks from the Central Texas Army post.
Police say witnesses helped investigators identify a suspect, who had fled. The 27-year-old Reese was arrested Saturday afternoon and charged with murder.
Jail records don't indicate whether Reese has an attorney. Killeen police haven't revealed a possible motive, but said witnesses reported that the two men were arguing before Richardson was shot in the chest.
Richardson was from Bronx, N.Y., and had served in Iraq.
