Texas storms leave light to moderate damage
Dallas — Severe thunderstorms that brought large hail, damaging winds and scattered tornadoes left widespread, light-to-moderate damage across North Texas.
Officials say suspected tornadoes downed trees, tossed backyard furniture and play equipment and stripped shingles from roofs in the northern suburbs of Dallas and Fort Worth. Meanwhile, hail up to the size of baseballs left shattered windshields and windows in many areas of North Texas.
The retail electric power supplier Oncor reports about 70,000 customers were left without power in North Texas after the storm.
No injuries have been reported.
