Tyler — Kliff Kingsbury came to TJC Wednesday.
The coach of the Texas Tech Red Raiders watched the Apaches practice at Tyler Junior College.
TJC will play in the Football Capital of Kansas Bowl this Sunday.
Kingsbury was looking for players to play in Lubbock.
"We love to be in East Texas and watch these programs," Kingsbury said. "The level of high school coaching and junior college coaching is as good as any in the country."
"We make it a priority to get out here and see everybody," Kingsbury added. "If you don't have the players, none of the plays work."
Danny Palmer, TJC coach, is getting used to college coaches visiting his program.
"We've had every Big 12 school here and a lot of SEC schools," Palmer said. "When you get to go to a bowl game and you're still playing, Division One schools go to all the junior colleges."
