San Antonio, Texas (NBC/KETK) — Police say a boy believed to be in his teens was killed when he was hit by a train on the north side of San Antonio.
A police helicopter was called in to help officers search for the body, which was found near a local intersection.
Police said the teen was seen walking in the middle of the train tracks, wearing headphones and a backpack when the accident happened sometime around 9 a.m.
The Union Pacific train conductor told investigators he honked the train's horn several times in an attempt to alert the teen whose back was to the train.
The victim did not have any identification, but his backpack did contain a notebook.
Police said they were checking with local school districts in an effort to identify the victim.
