It's called the Texas Truck Rodeo. Every year, the Texas Auto Writers Association invite manufacturers from around the world to bring their best trucks and SUV's right here to the Hill Country, where we pretty much drive the snot out of them.

The event is held at the beautiful Knibbe Ranch. It's a 1000 acre spread in the Hill Country just north of San Antonio. All the manufacturers bring their trucks and SUV's and they ride along and tell us how they want us to drive them.

Sometimes with disastrous results.

And over the course of 2 days, we drove them all…pickup trucks, SUV's luxury, workaday, all in the beautiful Hill Country.

The course was a fairly tough one, even for a Jeep guy like me. And being a working ranch, there were some natural obstacles.

From luxury trucks like the Cadillac Escalade, to out and out toys like the Ford Raptor, hardworking heavy duty trucks, and compact luxury SUV's including Range Rovers, they were all there.

Ford Motor Company vice-President George Pippas says, the market is improving, "And now that business is starting to pick up but the econom is is still not moving on all cylinders, so we've got a ways to go. But things are definitely on the upswing."

And as the event wound down, it was time to make our choices. So we took our last drives in the Jeeps, the Chevy's, the Toyotas, and of course, onw last spin with the mad man from Ram.

All in all, everybody had a great time, and we picked our winners in every category of vehicle, including the overall Truck of Texas, this year, the Ford F150.
