Students at most campuses in the University of Texas and Texas A&M University systems would pay more in tuition next fall under proposals scheduled to be voted on by their governing boards this week.

A plan to raise tuition at the University of Texas at Austin by an average 2.6 percent for resident undergraduates and up to 3.6 percent for non-resident and graduate students would raise about $25.7 million.

The wealthy can afford to send their children to ivy league or other presigious private schools...by making it more difficult, or impossible, for bright young people who are otherwise qualified and would love to go to college but can't afford higher and higher tuition/book/housing fees, the division between the have's and have-nots, the privileged and those denied the opportunity, grows wider...those educated are the "masters"...those denied...there goes the American dream
