Starting with the general election this November voters are now required to show a valid ID card to vote.

Valid ID cards include:

•Texas driver license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)
•Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS
•Texas personal identification card issued by DPS
•Texas concealed handgun license issued by DPS
•United States military identification card containing the person’s photograph
•United States citizenship certificate containing the person’s photograph
•United States passport
 

If a voter is unable to provide a valid ID card they will be allowed to use a provisional ballot and their vote will not become official until they are able to provide one of the seven valid identification forms.
