TYLER-- Volunteering takes a very special type of person.
And at the PATH offices--- it takes a caring and patient one.
Tonight, we introduce you to Suzanne Daniel.
She's what we love about East Texas.
SMITH COUNTY -- The American Red Cross is run by volunteers.
And it takes hundreds of them to help when disaster strikes.
For one man--- it's second nature.
Meet George Moses.
On average, around 130 people volunteer their time at the Salvation Army in Tyler.
And while all volunteers are appreciated, one woman stands out above the rest.
TYLER -- For the last 17 years, Sgt. David Hall has worked for the Tyler Police Department.
But aside from being a hero and family man, he gives back to the community by helping with the BAIR Foundation.
HENDERSON - Fire destroyed Carol and Jimmy Jordan's dairy farm many years ago.
Most families would rebuild and start over.
But, the Jordan's decided to change direction.
TYLER - For the past 71 years, the holidays in East Texas get started with a phone call, to Greenberg Smoked Turkeys in Tyler.
And, the longer the lines get.
"We can get everything just as good in Tyler. We can produce it in Tyler."
Pierre de Wet is the man behind Kiepersol Enterprises INC.-- a self-made empire, years in the making.
TYLER- Stanley's Famous Pit Bar-B-Q--- a Tyler staple for more than 50 years.
And still, bringing in the lunch rush.
"There's nothing else like it around here."
