Guillory answers our Tuesday story...
Tuesday we told you about Bishop L.J. Guillory, who is involved in the case of the student accused of stabbing a teacher to death at John Tyler High School.
He still says he is a Bishop in the Unitarian Church, and that the Smith County justice system is so racist, a fair trial for the accused stabbing suspect is impossible.
We sat down with him today…
He claims a doctorate of divinity from Bailey’s Temple, and Christ Paradise Church in Tyler.
“I didn’t assume it, it was bestowed on me.” He says.
“By whom?” we asked.
“By an Archbishop and 7 Bishops.”
He owns up to his time spent in prison, but Guillory has a bigger message to deliver.
He claims that attorney Jim Huggler, who represents the John Tyler High School stabbing suspect, is incompetent,
“My problem with Mr. Huggler,” Guillory says, “is the problem I would have with anyone who lies to the clients mother and other individuals about what he did and what he didn’t do.”
“I am an outstanding attorney,” Huggler told us by phone late Thursday. “I am a past president of the Smith County Bar Association. I am a past president of the Smith County Criminal Defense Attorney’s Association. I am a speaker for the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. I am board certified in criminal law, and there are about 838 lawyers out of about 80,000 that have achieved that level of professionalism.”
Huggler says this is interfering with what is a very serious case…
“He’s crossed the line himself and he’s done it multiple times,” Huggler told us.
“That’s not inserting yourself,” Guillory responds. “Any American can do that. Unless you’re black…in Tyler.
And Guillory also says, Judge Floyd Getz is racist.
“For a judge to publically lynch you, to publically humiliate you…” he complains.
And he says it is the corrupt Smith County justice system that has preordained the outcome in this case…
"The Judge has already predetermined how this was going to work,” Guillory says. “That everybody was in place. Oh Bishop Guillory is coming here to change things. I don't like the way he's doing things boss. Can you please get rid of him for me? Bring that negro forward. I'll deal with that negro. Negro what are you doing here? Didn't you go to prison. Didn't we taint your name? Get your tail out of here. But, what he don't understand is that there is still people in Washington that listen to me."

I'll like to say that someone like the Bishop L.J Guillory is what smith,co.Been needing for along time,someone who's not affraid to speak out.Racism still exist here.Not so much as black vs white but the have's and the have not.Smith,Co court system is very much corrupt and it's hard to see when you're on the outside looking in.Until the shoe has been put on the other foot then you wouldn't unstand.Speaking from experience a fair trail is hard to get in smith,co exspeicaly with a court appointed attorney.It is what it is.I also fell that the system needs to be held acountable for some us this teens actions.With his back ground he should never had been placed in public school in the first place.When the trueth is spoke'n it's hard for the haters to except it,regaurdless if you're black or white.I'm not a racesit but I wish more afraica american would stand up in smith,co.
Why does the media continue to refer to him as "Bishop Guillory"? It Should be "Self-proclaimed Bishop Guillory" or maybe "Felon Guillory". Let's be truthful.

Did he tell you where he was bestowed the Bishop title?
At the First Baptist CHurch in HEnderson.
HE also claims to be the President of the NAACP of Rusk County.
Has been in HEnderson before he moved to a house here with members of the Black Panther Party.
BTW, the new Black Panther Party will be marching from Mount Enterprise to the Rusk County Jail Dec. 22, over a case where an african american died in jail. I bet old HOG will be there too.
Thank you Mr. Gray for bringing LJ (HOG-honorable ombudsman general) to the light. He has been a thorn in the City of Henderson for four years and other towns before ours. He claims he is writing another book that we will be called the most racist town in America, but he also claimed that Haggerstown, Maryland is too, BTW, his wife lives there and get this she is white.
I would like to know where all his funding comes from, he accused a dear lady in henderson who works with disadvanated kids of stealing money and even put an ad in our local paper. She does the Yates park project and makes sure the kids have socks, and school supplies. He is nothing but a trouble maker.

Felon Guillory says that he has money and will hire help for the family....a lie.
Felon Guillory says he is a bishop...but if it is a self-appointed title... then it is a lie.
Felon Guillory says lawyer Huggler is incompetant. I don't see any evidence of that and I think the felon is lying.

We don't know yet that the accused killed anyone - there hasn't been a trial yet. But why give this clownster any air time? He has nothing really to do with the case!
I have practiced criminal law in Tyler for almost 20 years, representing thousands of citizens. If my child were charged with a crime, I would RUN to Jim Huggler's office and hire him to represent my child.
Mr. Huggler recently sat for the specialization exam in juvenile law, so in the near future it is probable he will be DOUBLE BOARD CERTIFIED in criminal law. Look up the number of Texas attorneys with 2 board certifications. Shouldn't take long, because there aren't many.

But let's talk about reverse discrimination--if the student was white and he killed a black teacher, would we be seeing this type of reaction or even an interview. Well, probably we would...Bishop Guillory would be right there standing for rights of the teacher and how that student shouldn't have even been allowed in school with his troubled past! Who is really the racist in this situation? I contend that "Bishop" Guillory is the true racist. If this had been a white student who killed a black teacher it would have been deemed as a hate crime and noone would have been standing up for the "students rights". As it stands now this is just another tragic event that I believe because the accused is black no matter what the justice system does is going to deemed as racist. Lets face the facts racism does run in both directions.

Just because I post here doesn't mean I am buying your advertiser's products, so it can't be for ratings, can it? I have yet to go to William H. Lively, or purchase any marble columns, or get some sedation dentistry done.
I think Bishop Guillory is an honorable American. He was proclaimed a Bishop in a public meeting where over a hundred people were present including myself. The issue is not with Bishop Guillory, but with the criminal justice system and judges that feel they can violate a persons Constitutional Rights in their courtroom. The Judge does not have the right to swear in anyone in their courtroom and began to question them without giving them their rights to an attorney and Miranda Rights.
The judge does not have the right to protect attorneys whose judgement has been questioned by a ligitimate concern. It is my opinion that a lot of these judges should be required to take a drug test to ensure their competence. Attacking the messenger does not make you right nor run the messenger away. Stay in tune with what America is all about. We are a Nation Under God.

Any judgements of Mr. Guillory I'll leave to the viewers. As to the newsworthiness of this story, he has insinuated himself into a very high profile case here, and has,depending on your point of view, either
brought racial issues to the fore, or gummed up the works. That too, I'll leave to the viewers to decide.
But, as one who belongs to a denomination that has real Bishops, they reach that rank after years of study and then years of pastoral work.
It is not a title bestowed lightly, and is voted on by clergy in the diocese the Bishop serves. I don't call a man a Colonel because he was proclaimed one. It is a title that is earned.
