The Dark Knight Rises shooting in Colorado has had theaters across the country paying more attention to, or increasing, their security, including here in East Texas.

After a midnight viewing of a movie like The Dark Knight Rises, all people want to talk about is the movie.

But that conversation didn't last long, and it's been replaced with a discussion, about public safety.

KETK was able to speak with some local theater managers about their security protocols, and if they will be changes.

One theater manager says he has multiple cameras in every theater, with video that goes back for a month.

Another  says there will be more of a police presence in the parking lot tonight, and throughout the weekend.

And one ticket worker told me he plans to search every bag, big or small, that is brought into the building.

And with the Colorado tragedy fresh in people's minds, more people in East Texas are signing up for gun self defense courses.

All the theater workers KETK spoke to say they don't believe the Colorado incident will keep people from seeing The Dark Knight Rises, or any other movies this weekend.

And they are going to do their best to make sure that everyone enjoys an excellent movie experience.
