It's the toughest district in Texas.

It has three recent state champions and four preseason top-15 teams.

KETK's Danny Elzner talked about the District of Doom with Jack Stallard, the Sports Editor of the Longview News-Journal.

Stallard said, "It'll be a fun district to watch but it won't be a lot of fun to coach in it. The UIL didn't do East Texas any favors. Chapel Hill, Gilmer and Henderson were a combined 39-and-4 last year. Kilgore went deep in the playoffs. Bullard won eight games. This is a great district. Unfortunately a lot of good teams will be left behind come playoff time."
