Tyler TX — A new mountain bike trail opened this morning at Lindsey Park in Tyler. This trail is the last of the "Four Pedals of the Rose," giving the city four completely different venues for biking, running, or hiking. City officials met this morning at Lindsey park for the ribbon cutting of the new mountain bike trail.

East Texan, Richard Suggs, said, "It's a really nice trail its closer for me to come to and its an intermediate beginner trail so we don't have to concentrate on the technicalities." There are four trails in the city of Tyler, one at Faulkner Park, the University of Texas at Tyler, Tyler State Park, and now Lindsey Park.

Billy Hibbs, the originator of the concept, said, "For a community of this size it's the only one in the united states where there are four completely different mountain bike trails." Cyclists met Saturday morning for a four hour endurance race. "It will also create another destination for Tyler for people who come in to vacation to ride all the different mountain bike trails around the Tyler area," said Mayor Barbara Bass.

People of all ages can enjoy what's being called, "free fun." Bass said, "This new pedal for the rose for our cyclists is going to add a new dimension for people who like to ride mountain bikes." Isabelle Heines, East Texan, said, "Because Tyler mostly doesn't have things like all the other big cities does and now we do." The trail is ten miles through the 130 acres of Lindsey park and there's no experience required!
