Tyler , TX (KETK) — Just when you think technology could not move any faster, it does.
Now, you don't even have to waste your time on the web looking for an item, just scan it with your smartphone.
It is pretty simple.
We like a clothing store or a new restaurant we look them up on the web.
But, what if you want to make your search more in depth? Like the lettuce you ate at a restaurant or a jacket an actress wore on TV.
Trying to search all over the web for those specific things can be a hassle.
Now, we can simply open the app on our smartphone, scan the QR code and in just three easy steps, you are connected to where you want to be.
The sky is the limit when it comes to this little app.
"It's just limited only by your imagination. There is so many applications for it," said Exclusively Yours Vice President DeAnn Wells.
Wells said QR codes are underutilized in the marketing world.
A QR code doesn't just take you to a businesses website, it can take you to anything you wish to know.
"Say your at a 5k run you can have the map on the webpage and the QR code on the water bottle so if people are wondering where they are on the track they can scan it."
"It's really interactive." People love to know the back story," said Wells.
It can be printed on a business card sticky notes, T-shirts, a car, or the bottom of a can.
We asked some East Texans what they thought of the QR code, some say they use it all the time.
"You know how it is when your in a store and you find something you like and you can't find a price anywhere well it comes in really handy then."
While others, still aren't too sure what it is.
