ETX student expected to be fine after being struck by vehicle before school
Carthage, Texas (Longview News-Journal) —
A Carthage Junior High School student was taken to ETMC Carthage as a precautionary measure after he was struck by a vehicle this morning while crossing Holly Street.
Carthage Police Chief Jim Vanover said the incident happened around 7:40 a.m. before classes started. He said the driver tried to avoid hitting the student.
“A lady driving a 2010 Dodge utility vehicle tried to slow down because she saw him coming,” Vanover said. “She hit him on the front right corner of her truck which knocked his feet out from under him.”
