Gary Morris performs in East Texas

TYLER — The award winning singer/songwriter Gary Morris give KETK an exclusive performance of "The Wind Beneath My Wings" before his big concert at KE Bushman in Tyler.

Morris has had an illustrious career that began in his hometown of Fort Worth.

He's also an accomplished actor - performing in Les Miserables on Broadway and on television shows such as 'The Colby's' - a spinoff of Dynasty.

In 1983, he won country music's song of the year with 'The Wind Beneath My Wings' and later Bette Middler recorded it and won a Grammy.

Morris tells KETK the song has been recorded hundreds of times since then.

"It's great to have a great song to sing...and I've got more stories than you can shake a stick at about it and how its' affected peoples lives, so it's one of those good things that you end up having in your career," Morris said.

Morris tells KETK he may turn tonight's performance into a live album.
