Thief crashes stolen car into house following high-speed chase

LONGVIEW — Longview Police are currently searching for a man who stole a vehicle and crashed it into a house.
The car was taken late Thursday night from a Longview convenience store. The man led police on a chase, but managed to get away.
According to police officers on scene, early Friday morning the same man was involved in a hit and run accident on Judson Rd. while driving at a high rate of speed. Police tell KETK the man was driving approximately 70 MPH.
The thief then drove down Green St., where he lost control of the vehicle. He drove through a fence of one house, and then crashed into another house across from the former Foster Middle School location on the 400 block of Green St.
Both houses were vacant at the time.
The man ran away from the scene, and police are currently searching the area for him.
He is described as a white male, with a military style haircut.
