North Carolina school officials in Gaston County confirm that two high school students have been suspended for tweeting threats, but because the students are juveniles, they can't say anything else.
Maggie Horne, a student at the school, said the students got three-day suspensions.
"People were suspended for saying they were going to blow-up the school, but it was a joke," said Horne.
School officials deny allegations that they are randomly asking for access to student's twitter pages.
As long as what students say is legal, Jennifer Rudinger of The American Civil Liberties Union of North Carolina said that "students should not be disciplined for what they express on their own time, especially if they are using their own computer or smartphone."
