Tyler, Texas (KETK) — A car wreck in Tyler leaves three injured, one critically.
It happened around 6 p.m. Tuesday evening in the 7600 block of Hwy 271 North in Tyler.
Upon arrival, officers determined that a Chevrolet Blazer was South bound on 271 North when the driver lost control of the vehicle, due to ice on the roadway.
Police tell KETK, the Blazer slid into oncoming traffic and struck a North bound Oncor utility truck. The passenger of the Blazer, a 17 year old white female, was pinned in and had to be removed by the Tyler Fire Department. She was transported to East Texas Medical Center, where she remains in critical but, non-life threatening condition.
The driver of both the Blazer and the Ford pick-up were also transported to ETMC with apparent minor injuries.
No names have been released.
At this time the Tyler Police Department would like to remind all drivers to exercise extreme caution due to the possible accumulation of ice of the roadways.
