Does the "Tea Party" movement have a legitimate chance to become a strong political party?

East Texans sound-off to our News Partner: KTBB and host Garth Maier.

If the "tea party" is truly comprised of independents, please name the Democratic candidates that they support. From all I've seen, the "tea party" is nothing more than a vocal extension of their Uncle G.O.P. If the Democrats support nothing that you believe in, then "Hello?", you're Republicans. Being independent in word, but not in deed - a trait that the U.S. dealt with for a long 8 years. I am sick of sound bites and empty promises. I am sick of words. Saying you're a Christian doesn't make you a Christian - your actions are what make you a Christian. So shut-up and show the world some actions.

YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD RICHARD

It is either Medina or Bill White for me. Just waiting to see where he stands on the issues that affect property owners and working men and women. Like what Madena has said thus far .

I will definitely vote for Debra Medina for governor.
Kay Bailout Hutchison has been a senator for 16 years and can never form an opinion on pretty much every issue and no matter what the electorate wants, she votes the opposite.
I cannot get past Rick Perry's Trans Texas Corridor nor the mandatory vaccines he was trying to have parents in Texas give thier daughters.
I no longer will rise above principle and vote for candidates that the Republican party says I should support, and get people such as John McCain and Bob Dole. I've held my nose for the last time. They should have thought about the consequences of their actions when they were the majority.
