Tyler Junior College won its 50th national championship late Wednesday night.

But the baseball team wasn't the only sports program to have success this school year.

The Apaches had four national runners-up.

Ten of TJC's eleven sports programs finished in the top 10 in the country.

The baseball team won it all.

"It's hard to put it into words," TJC coach Doug Wren said.  "To see these guys celebrate and get a reward for their hard work, it's a cool feeling as a coach to watch."

"Book-ending it, winning it in 2007, winning it seven years later in the last year to host it, some drama-filled games, you can't script it any better," Wren added.  "It's an unbelievable tournament."

Tyler is losing the Junior College World Series to North Carolina.

But the Apaches celebrated the tournament's going-away party with a party of their own.

"I hate to see it go, but what an unbelievable way to see it go," Wren said.
