Tyler, Texas(KETK) — Tyler Junior College and East Texas Medical Center are partnering up to teach the next generation of medical professionals.
The students in the medical services program will now benefit from the teachings of paramedics who spend their days performing emergency services under pressure. The students will have access to an ambulance simulator and other equipment that puts them as close to the real world experiences as possible.
The collaboration also combines students in different programs such as nursing and paramedics, so that they may have a more well-rounded education and transition between the fields easier.
The paramedics will also benefit from the new classroom equipment at the junior college. They will be able to stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and equipment in the medical field allowing them to provide better patient care, all while training the next generation of health-care givers in East Texas.
Students interested in the EMSP program are encouraged to contact the TJC Admissions office to apply or go online to www.tjc.edu.
