He was the most unlikely champion you could have found.
But a young man from East Texas is now America’s Top Shot.
His name is Dustin Ellermann.
He runs a Christian Summer Camp near Lufkin.
He is married with a house full of kids, natural, adopted and foster.
He is also now officially America’s Top shot.
They gathered Tuesday night at the Lufkin First Assembly church to watch the final episode of the Top Shot program on the History Channel.
It is in its third season of matching 16 of the finest shooters in the country in a competition using weapons that range from primitive to historic to modern.
The competitors are former military, police officers, homeland security agents, professional competitive shooters…and a 28-year-old camp director from Texas.
And last night, Dustin beat them all.
And next Wednesday, we’ll bring you an exclusive interview with Dustin about the competition, his work with kids, and the new found fame that he enjoys as America’s Top Shot.
