Traffic stop in Rusk County leads to money laundering charges for two Houston men

On Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at approximately 10:15pm, Rusk County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Officer, Deputy Jason Smith arrested two men from Houston, Texas on Money Laundering charges.

Sam Ellis Allen, 39, and Sir Don Bell, 32, both of Houston, Texas, were traveling US Hwy 59 South when Deputy Smith pulled them over on a traffic violation. During the stop, Smith received consent from the suspects to a search of the vehicle. During the search approximately $18,000.00, was discovered underneath the center console of the vehicle. Through Officer Smith’s investigation it was determined both suspects were involved in criminal activity and were arrested and transported to Rusk County Justice Center.

On Wednesday, both suspects were arraigned by Judge Joe Sorrells, and charged with Money Laundering, a State Jail Felony, both received bonds of $20,000 each.
