SMITH COUNTY – A traffic stop on Interstate 20 turned into a multi-million dollar drug bust.

Smith County Sheriff’s Deputies tell us they found 1,300 pounds of marijuana in an 18-wheeler around 1:00 a.m.

Sheriff J.B. Smith says the truck was driving erratically when deputies pulled him over. When the driver started acting suspicious, they asked to search his truck. That’s when they found 17 boxes of Marijuana.

Deputies think the pot came from Tucson, Arizona and could have been headed to Atlanta. The driver faces a second-degree felony, which could carry a 20-year sentence.
