One of Tyler's biggest employers is laying off hundreds of workers.

Five hundred people at Trane are now out of work. They were notifed today (Friday) that it was their last day.

Officials at Trane tell KETK it's all part of a seasonal lay-off of their hourly production staff.

The company makes heating and air conditioning units and they say demand is low right now.

A spokesperson for Trane tells KETK, employees who have recall rights are eligible to be rehired.
