A Gilmer woman is giving back to our troops this Christmas.

Julia Chapman runs a little bakery inside her home.

Last year, she cooked Thanksgiving dinner for three families who couldn't afford it.

This year, she wanted to do something a little different.

Chapman is going to make care packages, with candies, cookies, and Christmas cards.

She said she wants to give back to our men and women and give them a little Christmas cheer.

"I just thought it would be something to give back to my country to send stuff over to the troops cause you know some of them don't have families or anybody to send them anything at Christmas time and that just breaks my heart to think and I came up with Treats for Troops," said "The Southern Fried Mama" Julia Chapman.

If you or someone you know has a loved one stationed overseas, Chapman says to email her their name and shipping information.
