SMITH COUNTY - Dust off your fishing poles and buy your bait— the sand bass are out!

Smith County Game Warden Chris Green tells us, the best times to fish for white sand bass are February and March.

That's because, warmer temps and more rain helps them migrate up stream.

But with the increase in fishing, comes an increase in trespassing.

Game Warden Green tells us, it's a battle every year.

He says, "A lot of these land owners don't want trash on their property or fish parts on their property. We'll help them out if we need to."

Game Warden Green says, if you get caught trespassing— it will cost you a minimum of 25-bucks.

The max is 500-dollars.

That doesn't include court costs.

I haven't trespassed on property unless I had permission to fish their property and my friends like to trespass and they say if you don't want them to then try stocking the lakes and creaks up. and the wierd thing is they never get caught lucky dogs.
