SMITH COUNTY-- One Smith County Constable proposes to the Commissioner's Court this morning that truckers from companies who operate in the county need a permit costing $100.  Right now, the county permit is free.  He says this fee would help Smith County Road and Bridge to repair the roads that overweight trucks have damaged.

Not to mention the damage to the air... Remember Smith county is failing in that regard.

This is no way to promote good will. Truckers pay a lot in taxes. How about learning to live within your means for a change. An idea whose time has come.
