Camp Tyler welcomed families to the 66th Annual Kiwanis Turkey Shoot.

Erby Eikner, organizer, tells us the turkey shoot is a great community event.

“We are raising money to fund some of our Kiwanis Club projects with the children we have in the community,” says Eikner.

There are 12 lanes and for $3 you get four shots.

Nora Reyes of Tyler tells KETK, she came out to shoot for her first time and didn’t have any luck, but it’s for a great cause.

“We have special lanes for the kids to shoot at so they can have a chance to win turkey,” says Eikner.

Tom Perryman, radio legend of The Ranch 104.1 tells KETK, he wouldn’t miss this East Texas tradition.

“They win a turkey, some of them are seven-eight years old and younger and they go down there and hit that golf ball and win a ham… it’s amazing.”

Little Ethan Salter hit three targets and won a turkey, his grandfather called him a sharp-shooter.

The Johnston brothers also have a great aim and also won a bird. Jeffrey Johnston says, the turkey was the first thing he has ever won for shooting. His brother Cameron says, he shot the target on his first try.

Perryman says, he always enjoys coming out to the turkey shoot and to be a part of it.
