Two garbage trucks were destroyed late Sunday afternoon after one of them burst into flames.

Smith County Assistant Fire Marshall tell us one of the trucks spontaneously caught fire in the Garbage Pick-up Service parking lot, off of F-M 848 around 3:45 this afternoon.

The fire consumed the front end of the truck before spreading to a second truck parked nearby.

Fire crews from Whitehouse, Arp and Chapel Hill were able to arrive on scene and contained the blaze before it was able to damage any other vehicles or buildings.

The garbage trucks were destroyed.

No one was injured in the incident.

Investigators say they are still not sure where exactly the fire started, or how.
