Two people are injured and nine people are displaced after a late night fire at an apartment complex in Longview.

The fire started late Sunday evening shortly before midnight at the Belaire Manor Apartments on the 1500 block of East Young Street.

When fire fighters first arrived there was a large amount of fire coming from an upstairs apartment in building 13 of the complex. Fire fighters were able to contain the fire quickly and keep it from spreading to other units in the building.

An occupant in a second story apartment was injured when they jumped out the window to escape the fire. A second person was also taken to a local hospital for a medical condition that was caused or worsened due to the fire.

Their conditions are unknown at this time.

The fire is believed to have started near a window air conditioning unit which was being used at the time.

Red Cross is helping those who were displaced.
