Two Lufkin men arrested after alleged assault of public servant

Lufkin, Texas (KETK) — Two men were arrested Saturday night for allegedly assaulting a public servant.
Lufkin Police arrested Christopher Jones, 25, of Pollok, Texas, and Clinton Smith, 41, also of Pollok on charges of assault of a public servant, public intoxication, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.
Jones and Smith were picked up by authorities at the 600 block of North Second Street around 11:20p.m. Saturday and transported to the Angelina County Jail.
As of 12:00p.m. Sunday Jones still resided in Angelina County with bonds totaling $5,500 on charges of assault of a public servant, resisting arrest, and public intoxication.
Smith was released from jail Sunday after posting bail of $1,000 on charges of disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
