Two Nacogdoches residents were killed in separate wrecks this weekend.

The first was a two-vehicle wreck on Hwy. 259 in Nacogdoches County on Saturday, February 1, 2014.

Authorities tell KETK that James Larry Bobo, 73, of Nacogdoches, was driving northbound on Hwy. 259 just before noon, when he crossed over the center stripe and hit another vehicle. That second vehicle was driven by Ma'tja Young, 28, of Longview.

Bobo was killed in the crash, and Young was injured.

Authorities are still investigating the incident, so it is not clear at this time whether it is weather-related.

The second crash happened just before 6:00 p.m. Saturday in Angelina County on U.S. Hwy. 59, about 7 miles north of Lufkin.

According to the Department of Public Safety, Tracey Agnew-Deckward, 44, was driving at an unsafe speed when she ran off the road and into a ditch. Her vehicle struck a steel pipe in the ground.

She was pronounced dead on scene.
