Two robberies Saturday, possibly connected

At about 7:05 p.m. Tyler Police responded to robbery at the Walgreens on S. Broadway and Rieck Rd. in Tyler.

Tyler Police arrived at the scene and discovered that an unidentified white male, possibly in his mid to late 20’s pulled a handgun on the pharmacist and demanded prescription pills

Earlier today, Brookshires employees tell KETK there was another pharmacy robbery at around 4 p.m. at the Brookshires on 155 and FM 2661.

Police believe there is a connection to these two robberies. The suspect was see on surveillance camera wearing a gray sweatshirt, dark shorts, and a green and white baseball cap.

He was also seen driving a black or dark colored 4-door sedan, possibly with a sun-roof, he was seen headed south on Broadway after the Walgreens robbery.

There were no injuries as a result of both of these crimes, and police say no shots were fired.

The robber escaped from both robberies with an unknown amount of prescription pills. The type of pills are unknown at this time.

Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case or any felony case.

The Smith County Sheriff's department is still investigating both of these robberies.
