TX House passes bill to ban texting
TEXAS — Right now, it is illegal in Texas to text and drive in a school zone or if you are under 18.
Now, the Texas House passed a bill that would make sending a text or email from a cell phone illegal everywhere.
If passed by the Senate, the new law would allow for texting at stop lights or stop signs, and anyone can read a text or email while driving.
30 other states have passed similar texting bans, but some say all of the exceptions make the texting ban hard for police to enforce them.
Do you think this new bill will work?
