TxDOT maintenance crews scheduled to repair several roads in Smith County

Smith County, Texas (KETK) — The Texas Department of Transportation maintanance crews this week are scheduled to continue base and pavement repairs on SH 135 between Troup and Arp, and then move to SH 135 near the Overton city limits.
A second crew is scheduled to resume base and pavement repais on East Loop 323 in Tyler between the Loop 323 Extension and Commerce Street.
There will be daytime lane closures in effect in each location while the work is in progress. Motorists are encouraged to be prepared to reduce speed and merge in and around the work zone.
Looking ahead to the week of April 7th, construction crews from contractor APAc-Dallas, Inc. They are scheduled to begin work to reshape northbound U.S. 69 between Toll 49 and Cumberland Road to lower the grade of the roadway to allow better access and sight distance into the new development in the area.
The project will also add two traffic signals in the area to facilitate easier access for southbound traffic turning into the development.
During construction, the spped limit in the area will be reduced from 55 miles per hour to 45 miles per hour and will regularly be reduced to noe lane, particularly on the northbound side.
The $2.1 million project has been completely funded by the developer.
