TYLER — Crime in 2011 dropped 13% in comparison with 2010, according to the Tyler Police Department

Tyler officials track two types of crimes. Part 1 crimes fall under the categories of homicides, sexual assaults, robberies, aggravated assaults, burglaries, thefts and stolen vehicles.

Part 1 crimes fell by 13.68%, a total of 748 less offenses than the previous calendar year.
