Tyler fire officials give details on downtown fire

TYLER — Fire crews are still on the scene of a fire in downtown Tyler which has destroyed three buildings.

Officials say the fire began around 7:30 p.m. in the 100 block of North Spring Avenue.

Lindale, Dixie, Flint-Gresham, Noonday and Bullard Fire Departments were also on the scene with the Tyler Fire Department.

Off-duty firefighters were also called-in to answer other requests for help.

According to fire officials, one firefighter was injured while fighting the blaze. He was taken to the hospital and is in good condition.

Our Charlotte Huffman was in downtown Tyler Tuesday morning, where Fire Captain Mike Frost spoke about what happened.
